A Picture isn’t Worth A Thousand Words
One of the main pulls of photography for me is that you can capture any moment, emotion and color in time. When you have them developed in your hand or on your screen, it is a living piece of history. You’ll never forget where you were when you took it.
Pictures that remind of you the past can stir up emotions you’ve long forgotten. They can bring a string of bittersweet memories and personal laughter. They can make you yearn for the earlier days and years. They often remind you of a more youthful, innocent and carefree time. I love how you can take a picture of an unknowing person in their natural element and you see how wonderful their smile is or how much hurt is in their eyes. Sometimes words just can’t explain what the soul is going through.
I see my personal pictures as a timeline of my life. The ones I cherish the most are the pictures I take in my travels and the ones with family and loved ones. Even some photos of my previous relationships still leave a sense of comfort and happiness. It isn’t often that I can feel this way when I look back, but when I am able to, then I know I was truly happy when the picture was taken. When all that I once had, loved and visited are gone, all I have left are my photos. I will always love living and reminiscing in them.
