It’s uncommon for influences or people of influence to come around and trigger a sense of art urgency within me. Lately in my older years, I’ve been sweeping the natural creativity gene under the rug of serious responsibilities and numbing daily dose of “adult life”. However. I’ve been spending more of my free time around imaginative and artistic individuals.

It’s not only about the digital avenues like the recent churning of photography or comic creations in online channels that have suddenly emerged. Tonight for the first time in what seems forever, I revisited my old school way of art: Prismacolor pencils, foam core board with trusty exacto knife and my old sketchpad from Design I class freshman year in college. My drawing hand was a little shaky and out of practice, but damn. It felt really good.

I think if I did a little something artistic everyday, even if its just a scribble or a snapshot, my days would be more self-fulfilling and accomplished. I’m going to make a mental note and try it.
